Ábúendur fram til ársins 2007 voru þau Ingileif og Guðni sem fluttust þá á Vopnafjörð. Silvia og Edze bjuggu síðan á jörðinni til 2015. Hámundarstaðir teljast innsti bær á Vopnafjarðarströnd. Jörðin er all stór. Þurrir bakkar eru meðfram sjónum og þar upp af hallalitlar mýrar, en nær fjallinu hallamýrar og mólendi upp á heiðarbrún. The residence house and other buildings in HVAMMUR were previously situated on a small hillock close to the riverbank, a bit south of the current buildings.
